Used Terex FDC 25K Empty Container Handler – 2012

Terex FDC 25K, 2012: empty containers, eight tiers high

The Terex FDC 25K comes from the same engineering line as the Fantuzzi FDC machines — Terex acquired the marque and continued production — and it is built for handling empty containers. This unit dates from 2012, has around 23,000 working hours and is in good operating condition.

Stacking height is eight 8’6” containers. The lifting attachment is a two-point front spreader, the classic choice on empties machines: light, quick to engage and with very little to maintain compared with a telescopic spreader.

Engine, transmission and tyres

The engine is a Volvo TAD 750 VE turbodiesel and the transmission is a Clark unit. These are the same assemblies fitted to most of the container handlers built in that period, which is why parts remain accessible more than a decade after manufacture.

Tyres are 14.00-24.

What to look at on a machine with 23,000 hours

On an empties machine hours matter less than on a loaded container handler, because the weight actually moved is a fraction of the structural rating. What matters is the condition of the mast, the wear pads and the lift cylinders. We can carry out a specific inspection before delivery and, if needed, workshop work.

What it suits

  • empty container depots and storage yards
  • terminals wanting to take empties off the reachstacker
  • hauliers with their own container fleet
  • logistics operators looking for an affordable backup machine
